8 Years wedded bliss celebrated at Lassen National Park

 Route along the Feather River

Looking down on the Feather River

Our 4 mile hike begins at Drakesbad. Two miles in and two miles out. It wouldn't have been so bad except it rained the entire time. I had to make a special raincoat for my camera. This little spring was at the trailhead. The water was warm. See the steam coming off of it?

An alpine meadow on the way to Hell's Kitchen at Drakesbad.

Check out the mud on my feet. It was like walking with gravity boots on.

I think Dean is sinking into the trail. This place was so beautiful even if it did stink like sulfur.

Old barn along the road from Chester, CA to Lassen Park. The version before the snow is seen above.

Walking up to the ranger station at Lassen National Park. Unless you wanted to hike in on foot this was as far as they would let you into the Park. We never did see Mt. Lassen.

Out behind the ranger station just inside Lassen National Park.

Along the road to Lassen Park entrance.

This is where Dean thought we should have lunch. Looks funky but the food was actually pretty good. I had grilled ham and cheese and Dean had a burger.

Inside the Mineral Cafe. It was cozy inside. Nice considering it was snowing outside. They have a bar and a billiards room in the back.
